The IWALK 2025 Run & Walk is more than a community gathering. It is a statement of what we can achieve when we come together to support one another. This year, our goal is to raise $100,000, and I want to share why that number matters and where the money goes.
At ACTS, we serve thousands of people each year across Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park. Families come to us when the lights are about to go out, when there is no food in the pantry, when a loved one is unsafe at home, or when shelter is needed after violence or loss. Last year alone, ACTS distributed more than 630,000 pounds of food, supported over 200 households with emergency assistance, and sheltered nearly 150 individuals. These are not statistics to us. They are neighbors, parents, and children who depend on ACTS in moments of crisis.
The funds raised through IWALK 2025 will directly support these essential programs. A significant share will provide emergency assistance so families can keep their homes and utilities. Another portion will strengthen our Hunger Prevention Center, ensuring we have food on the shelves and the means to deliver it to those who cannot come to us. Funds will also support our housing programs, helping families transition from shelters into permanent homes. Survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault will receive the care, safety, and advocacy they need through our crisis services. Finally, part of these funds will help us sustain our operations, train staff, and maintain the systems that allow ACTS to respond quickly and effectively when the phone rings.
Every dollar raised through IWALK creates stability where it is slipping away. It prevents homelessness, keeps children fed, and ensures survivors are not left alone. This event is not about running or walking alone, but about building a community that refuses to let its neighbors fall through the cracks.
When you give, when you walk, when you run, you are part of that commitment. Together, we will ensure ACTS continues to be a lifeline for those who need it most.
