Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Fifty years ago, ACTS’ founders began by addressing the most basic human needs of food and shelter. They established Prince William County’s first food bank, set up a used furniture distribution system, and developed a homeless shelter in local churches. From these beginnings grew the Hunger Prevention Center, utility assistance program, two homeless shelters, and a permanent housing program. Services now also include comprehensive prevention and intervention programs to address domestic violence, sexual abuse and assault, and suicide, as well as a 24-hour anonymous crisis telephone service.
