ACT NOW FOR ACTS - WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

Dear Friends and Supporters,

I write to you today with a heavy heart as we face a significant challenge that will impact the most vulnerable members of our community. Nonprofits in Prince William County focusing on housing, food insecurity, homelessness, and domestic violence services are facing increased demand while competing for a shrinking pool of donations. Here are some insights and strategies for these sectors:

Current Giving Trends in Your Focus Areas:
1. Housing & Homelessness Services – With rising rents and economic instability, donors are more aware of the housing crisis. However, federal and state funding sources may shift, requiring nonprofits to diversify their revenue.

2. Food Insecurity – Food banks and meal programs often receive steady or increased donations during economic downturns, but inflation has increased food costs, making every dollar less impactful.

3. Domestic & Sexual Violence Services – These nonprofits often struggle with consistent funding, as many donors focus on immediate crisis relief like food and shelter. However, government grants and corporate giving remain strong sources.

4. Local Giving Patterns in Prince William County – While Northern Virginia has significant wealth, suburban donors may not always prioritize local issues. Engaging donors with community impact stories can help.

These trends have far-reaching consequences, not just globally but also at home. For organizations like ACTS, which rely on a strong network of support to provide essential services, the loss of this funding creates an undeniable strain on our ability to meet the growing needs of individuals and families in crisis

For decades, ACTS has been crucial in supporting humanitarian efforts, strengthening communities, and ensuring those in need— in the Greater Prince William County region, have access to food, shelter, and emergency services. This is at the core of ACTS' mission of fostering hope, providing relief, and promoting self-sufficiency. The trends above create challenges and opportunities for ACTS' continued service to our Prince William neighbors in crisis.

Now, more than ever, we need our community to stand with us. ACTS has always been a beacon of hope for those facing hardship, and we will not waver in our commitment. But we cannot do this alone. We are calling on our supporters, business partners, faith communities, and local leaders to rally behind us and help us bridge this gap through increased donations, sponsorships, and advocacy.

Despite this setback, I remain hopeful. Hopeful because of the resilience of our community. I am confident because I have seen the generosity and compassion of those who believe in our mission. And optimistic because, together, we can ensure that no one in Prince William County is left behind.

I urge you to Act Now for ACTS—whether through a financial contribution, corporate partnership, or simply spreading awareness of this urgent need. Your support will allow us to continue providing life-changing services to those who need them most.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to ACTS and the people we serve. With your help, we will overcome this challenge and continue making a lasting impact.

With gratitude,

Dr. Stanley B. Jones
Chief Executive Officer
