Without Donors, The Vision Perishes
Your Support Makes Our Mission Possible

Donors are the lifeblood of ACTS, enabling us to provide critical services to individuals and families facing crisis. The need for support is greater than ever, as many in our community struggle with challenges like housing instability, food insecurity, and domestic violence. Your contributions directly fund programs that offer hope and stability to over 65,700 people annually. By giving, you ensure that no one is turned away in their time of need and that ACTS can continue building a stronger, more compassionate community for all.

$1,000 Donation

A $1,000 donation to ACTS can make a profound impact on individuals and families in need. It can provide food for a family of four for over three months, cover emergency shelter for individuals escaping domestic violence, or offer critical crisis intervention services. Your generosity helps ensure that no one in our community faces hardship alone, bringing hope and stability to those in crisis.

$500 Donation

A $500 donation to ACTS can provide essential support to individuals and families in crisis. It can supply groceries for a family for over six weeks, fund utility assistance to prevent a household from losing heat or electricity, or support counseling services for survivors of domestic violence. Your gift helps transform lives and fosters a stronger, more compassionate community.

$100 Donation

A $100 donation to ACTS can provide vital assistance to those in need. It can supply a week's worth of groceries for a family, cover a night of emergency shelter for someone escaping domestic violence or sexual assault. Your support makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors in need.

$50 Donation

A $50 donation to ACTS can make a meaningful impact by providing essentials like a few days’ worth of groceries for a family, hygiene kits for individuals in crisis, or bus fare for someone to get to work or a critical appointment. Every gift helps bring hope and support to those in need.

$25 Donation

A $25 donation to ACTS can help provide a hot meal for a family in need, and hygiene supplies for someone in crisis. Even a small gift can make a big difference in someone’s life.

IWALK 2025

IWALK 2025 is an annual fundraising and community engagement event organized by ACTS (Action in Community Through Service). It typically includes a charity walk, family-friendly activities, entertainment, and opportunities for the community to learn more about ACTS' mission and services. The event serves as a major fundraiser, helping to support ACTS’ emergency assistance programs, crisis helplines, food assistance, housing services, and domestic violence and sexual assault services.

Winter Support Appeal

After the holidays, giving often slows—but the need in Prince William County rises. From January through March, families face food insecurity, rising housing costs, and increased crisis calls. Our goal is to raise $35,000 to keep tables full, protect survivors, and support neighbors during the hardest season. Your gift ensures seniors receive home deliveries, families stay housed, and those in crisis find safety and hope. Together, we can make sure no one faces winter alone.

This Thanksgiving season, you can make a lasting difference for families in our community. From October 6 – November 20, 2025, ACTS invites you to Share the Bounty by donating food items that help create a warm, festive holiday meal for those in need. Every can of yams, pie filling, turkey or chicken broth, stuffing mix, evaporated milk, or gravy packet brings comfort and hope to a family who might otherwise go without.

Your generosity helps ensure that every table is filled with gratitude, love, and nourishment this holiday season. Together, we can share not only food, but also kindness and compassion.

ACTS Commitment to Clients

Fifty years ago, ACTS’ founders began by addressing the most basic human needs of food and shelter. They established Prince William County’s first food bank, set up a used furniture distribution system, and developed a homeless shelter in local churches. From these beginnings grew the Hunger Prevention Center, utility assistance program, two homeless shelters, and a permanent housing program. Services now also include comprehensive prevention and intervention programs to address domestic violence, sexual abuse and assault, and suicide, as well as a 24-hour anonymous crisis telephone service.
