ACTS Rapid Rehousing Program recognizes the Housing First approach model. Our mission and vision supports’ housing as a basic human right and a crucial first step in addressing homelessness. Our approach to ending homelessness is rooted in the belief that people need basic necessities like food and a place to live before attending to anything less critical, such as an obtaining employment, budgeting properly, or attending to substance abuse issues (https://endhomelessness.org/resource/housing-first/). National Alliance to End Homelessness, Housing First, March 20, 2022). By prioritizing immediate and permanent housing and offering tailored support services, we provide a foundation for individuals to rebuild their lives.

One of the very first buildings acquired by ACTS, this home originally served as a shelter (upstairs), a thrift store (main floor), and a food pantry (basement) back in 1979. It was named after Beverly Warren, a longtime volunteer committed to helping people in need in our community.
Today, Beverly Warren is exclusively an Emergency Shelter with up to 18 beds available for single females and adults with children. Residents are supported in a home like environment, staffed 24-7 by trained professionals. Within days of admission, each resident meet with the Shelter Case Manager to complete an Individual Service Plan. Guided by the client, individual goals are identified and specific steps created. BW Shelter staff are available to provide assistance with physical and mental health support, employment, application for entitlements and referrals for available supportive housing programs including housing location services, transitional housing and rapid rehousing.

ACTS Affordable Housing Program provides qualified low- and moderate-income households the opportunity to live at a reduced rent in privately-owned and privately managed market-rate units located in Prince William County. The Department of Housing and Community Development works with ACTS to ensure units rented under the program are comparable to market rate apartments, are occupied by households who meet the income guidelines of the program, and that eligibility recertification for the program is completed on an annual basis.
More information about this program is pending.
