FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ACTS Announces Closure of Second ACTS Thrift Store and Donation Center

Dumfries, VA – May 7, 2025 – Action in Community Through Service (ACTS) of Prince William County announces the closure of its Second ACTS Thrift Store, effective June 30, 2025. After 40 successful years of service to the Greater Prince William County community, the Second ACTS Thrift Store will end operations on June 30, 2025.

“We are grateful for the support from our patrons and donors over the years,” said, Stan Jones, Chief Executive Officer. “While this decision was difficult, it allows us to better allocate resources to our core mission of providing essential services to those in need. It is indeed a day and time of mixed emotions for our organization and the staff and community we support. Our greatest asset as a historic nonprofit human services organization is to continue to foster hope, provide relief, and promote self-sufficiency for our Prince William neighbors in crisis. The closing of the Second ACTS Thrift Store and Donation Center does not shift this commitment. ACTS will continue to enhance housing, food assistance, domestic violence, and sexual assault services. The store will host sales events through the end of June.
