IWALK: Who Are You Walking For?

At ACTS, every success story begins with someone reaching out for help during a difficult moment.

Earlier this year, a local father found himself facing a crisis. After an unexpected medical issue forced him to miss work, he quickly fell behind on household expenses. With limited savings and mounting bills, he worried about providing for his family and keeping a roof over their heads.

When he came to ACTS, our team worked with him to address his immediate needs. Through the Hunger Prevention Center, his family received nutritious food while emergency assistance helped relieve some of the financial pressure. ACTS staff also connected him with additional community resources designed to support his recovery and long-term stability.

Over the following months, his health improved and he was able to return to work. With steady employment restored and the support he received during a critical period, his family regained stability and avoided a deeper crisis.

While every client's journey is different, stories like this reflect the mission of ACTS. We provide relief during emergencies, but our goal is always larger. We help individuals and families build pathways toward self-sufficiency and hope.

This work is possible because of generous donors, volunteers, faith communities, businesses, and community partners who believe that no one should face hardship alone.

Every meal distributed, every night of shelter provided, and every family assisted represents a community coming together to make a difference. Thank you for helping ACTS create stories of hope every day.

Coming This Fall: IWALK 2026

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 24, 2026, as ACTS hosts IWALK 2026, our annual community walk celebrating compassion, service, and hope.

Each year, hundreds of participants come together to support ACTS and the thousands of individuals and families who rely on our programs. From food assistance and housing support to services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, IWALK helps strengthen the programs that serve our neighbors throughout Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park.

IWALK is designed for everyone. Families, businesses, civic groups, faith communities, schools, and individual supporters all play an important role in making the event a success. Participants will enjoy a morning of community spirit, entertainment, family-friendly activities, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact.

Last year's event raised more than $97,000 to support ACTS programs. This year, we hope to build on that success and engage even more members of our community in the mission of creating hope and promoting self-sufficiency.

Over the coming months, we will share information about registration, sponsorship opportunities, fundraising teams, and volunteer roles. Whether you walk, sponsor, donate, or help spread the word, your involvement makes a difference.

When we walk together, we demonstrate what is possible when a community unites around a common purpose. We hope you will join us on October 24 as we take steps toward a stronger and more compassionate community.

Together, we can turn every step into hope.
