ACTS Nominated for Prince William Living's Giving Back Award

With 2016 being an election year, our organization has found it's name in a very important poll. To be precise, ACTS is honored to be considered as a nominee of Prince William Living's Annual Giving Back Award. The Giving Back Award is the publication's way of promoting non-profit organizations in the areas of Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park in their efforts of creating greater awareness and support for the type of work we all do. From now until September 15th, the public is able to cast their votes on the best non-profit organization in the area from a list on Prince William Living's website. Afterwards, the top five non-profits will receive an article in the magazine that will highlight their programs and services in the community. While our organization does appreciate the amazing work that other non-profits have done for our neighbors in Prince William County, this award will give us a chance to showcase our services to those who might not know us at a time of the year in which we hold our biggest fundraiser (the IWALK) and our biggest giveaway event (Operation Turkey). You now have an opportunity to let the magazine know what our services mean to you. Simply follow the link below, and you will be directed to the poll where you can vote for us once a day. The link is also available on our Facebook page, so please feel free to share it with your friends as well.

The more exposure we receive, the more we will be able to help those who are truly in need in the upcoming months. We have accomplished so many things this year thanks to your help and the generosity of our community partners, and we are an organization that is in the business of helping others. In just one year, ACTS was able to:

  • Assist 9,706 individuals who were seeking financial assistance through our Client Support Services Department
  • Provide over 600,000 lbs of food to those that were hungry through our Food Pantry
  • Shelter 255 people at our Emergency Shelter and Safe House
  • Give 274 individuals affordable housing options through our Housing Services Program
  • Answer 51,204 calls through our Helpline
  • Serve 4,443 people through our Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program

We always strive to do more for our neighbors at ACTS, and you now have the chance to speak for those who may not have a voice.
